SENCO Gold & Diamonds Earns IAGES Accreditation Across 100+ Stores Nationwide

Senco Gold & Diamonds, one of India’s leading jewellery retailers, has been awarded accreditation from the Indian Association for Gold Excellence and Standards (IAGES), reaffirming its dedication to gaining consumer trust through ethical, transparent, and fair business practices.

With over 100 stores across India, Senco Gold & Diamonds is a well-established name in the Indian jewellery retail industry. The brand has built a strong reputation over the past eight decades, known for its craftsmanship in gold, diamond, platinum, and silver jewellery.

IAGES, a self-regulatory body for the Indian gold industry, aims to enhance clarity and accountability across the gold value chain, which includes retailers, manufacturers, refiners, and bullion traders, through a comprehensive Code of Conduct. This framework promotes responsible sourcing, operational integrity, and a consumer-first approach throughout the industry.

“As the Indian gold industry moves towards greater formalisation, frameworks like IAGES play a crucial role in strengthening accountability and consumer trust. Senco’s longstanding adherence to global and national standards, including BIS and the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), made us natural early adopters of IAGES. This accreditation across more than 100 stores demonstrates our commitment to governance, process integrity, and encouraging the industry to raise its standards,” said Suvankar Sen, MD & CEO, Senco Gold & Diamonds.

The IAGES Code of Conduct covers every aspect of the business, from sourcing and refining to hallmarking, transparent pricing, and store operations. Retailers must undergo an independent third-party assessment to receive IAGES accreditation. Consumers can trust that accredited retailers uphold integrity, transparency, and responsibility.

“Senco is a respected legacy brand with a strong presence across multiple regions in India. Its alignment with the IAGES framework sends a strong message to the industry about the importance of transparency, integrity, and consumer-centric standards. By adopting IAGES’ Code of Conduct, the gold industry is building long-term credibility and bringing the sector in line with global best practices,” said Kaushlendra Sinha, CEO, IAGES.

IAGES is currently running a nationwide consumer awareness campaign, #PehlaCheckIAGES, to encourage consumers to always verify IAGES accreditation before choosing their gold retailer.
