Customs Commissioner Shri R. K. Chandan Opens 12th India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show in Jaipur

The 12th edition of the India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show (IRGSS) 2025 was formally inaugurated on 17th November 2025 by Shri R. K. Chandan, Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur, accompanied by Shri Jitendra Meena, Deputy Commissioner of Customs, ACC Jaipur.

Shri Chandan was warmly received and honoured by Shri Yogendra Garg, Regional Chairman of GJEPC, and Shri D. P. Khandelwal, Convener of the Coloured Gemstones Panel, along with members of the Regional Committee and the Panel.

A highlight of this year’s show is the participation of Kagem Mining Co. Ltd., Zambia, owned by Gemfields, showcasing an extensive range of rough emeralds for India’s gemstone manufacturers. Viewing sessions are being managed by Mr. Brijraj Rathore, Senior Manager at Kagem, and Mr. Gopal Kumar, Director of Gemfields India, who also guided visitors through the exhibition.

During his tour, Shri Chandan engaged with industry stakeholders, listened to their suggestions, and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting seamless business operations.

GJEPC extended its appreciation to the Commissioner and the Jaipur Customs Commissionerate for their ongoing support to the industry — including reinstating the facility for personal carriage of gems and jewellery — and for their proactive approach in addressing trade issues and enhancing ease of doing business.
