Singapore to Host the World Diamond Congress in July 2026

The upcoming World Diamond Congress — a joint event by the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) — is set to take place from 12–15 July 2026 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore.

“We’re delighted to bring this significant industry forum back to Singapore,” said Fabio Cascapera, President of the Diamond Exchange of Singapore (DES) and Chairman of the WDC 2026 Organising Committee. “Since Singapore last hosted the Congress in 1988, the diamond sector has evolved tremendously. Yet, one constant remains: diamonds continue to be among the most coveted luxury items for consumers across cultures and generations.”

Over the decades, consumer markets across Asia have expanded rapidly, driving strong demand for diamonds, coloured gemstones, and fine gemstone jewellery. “This surge in luxury appetite has extended beyond China and India to nations like Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines,” noted Suresh Hathiramani, former DES President and member of the Organising Committee.

He added, “We look forward to welcoming our counterparts from Africa — the primary source of the world’s gem-quality diamonds — and to deepening collaboration between the African and Asian diamond sectors. Our goal is to make the 2026 Congress a dynamic platform for discovering new opportunities and building meaningful business partnerships.”
