VBJ Since 1900 Powers the 8th Edition of D2D Chennai Marathon 2025

VBJ Since 1900 (Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers), one of India’s most trusted and heritage-rich jewellery houses, proudly partnered with the 8th edition of the D2D Chennai Marathon 2025 — a purpose-led event that celebrated endurance, compassion, and community spirit. Conceptualised by Neville J. Bilimoria, the marathon aimed to raise funds for the education and healthcare of underprivileged children, while also extending support to the Cancer Institute (WIA) for the treatment and care of cancer patients.

The 2025 edition of the D2D Marathon saw an inspiring turnout, with nearly 3,500 participants — including runners and cyclists — competing across three segments: adult runs, kids’ runs, and cycling. Registrations were kept inclusive and accessible through an easy-to-use online platform with a minimal entry fee, encouraging participation from all age groups.

Speaking about the association, Jithendra Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, said,

“At VBJ, endurance isn’t just about longevity — it’s about evolving with meaning and purpose. The D2D Marathon beautifully captures that same essence: pushing limits, inspiring hope, and driving change. This year’s event was more than a partnership; it was a coming together of shared values, trust, and heartfelt connection with Neville and the D2D family.”

Echoing the sentiment, Amarendran Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, added,

“For 125 years, VBJ has stood for trust, craftsmanship, and compassion — principles that extend far beyond the world of jewellery. Supporting D2D gave us the opportunity to translate those values into community impact. Watching Chennai unite in the spirit of giving was truly moving.”

Founder Neville J. Bilimoria expressed his gratitude, saying,

VBJ has been part of the D2D journey from the very beginning — more than a partner, they’ve been family. Their presence brought warmth, heritage, and depth to this 8th edition. It’s rare to find a brand that mirrors our philosophy so closely — where empathy and excellence truly come together for a greater cause.”

Honouring its illustrious legacy as the creator of the historic Sengol — rediscovered after 72 years and now proudly enshrined beside the Speaker’s chair in India’s new Parliament — VBJ continues to uphold its commitment to tradition, craftsmanship, and community. With expansion plans across Tamil Nadu and the USA, VBJ Since 1900 remains deeply rooted in purpose.

The D2D Chennai Marathon 2025 perfectly embodied that spirit — a shared journey of heritage, humanity, and resilience, reflecting VBJ’s timeless belief that true legacy lies not only in jewellery, but in uplifting lives.
