Day 4 of GJEPC’s Exporter Mentorship FAM Programme Highlights Certification, Market Insights & the Sharjah Show

The fourth day of GJEPC’s 4th Exporter Mentorship Programme (EMP), running from 22nd to 26th September in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, focused on hands-on learning and market immersion:

  • SGL (Solitaire Gemmological Laboratories) Experience Centre: Participants observed diamond certification processes and techniques for distinguishing natural from lab-grown stones. One senior delegate, representing a 150-year-old business, noted, “Missing this session would have meant missing a crucial business lesson.”
  • Karama Market: Recognised as a hub for South Indian jewellery, Karama exposed delegates to trending designs such as temple and kundan jewellery, sparking confidence in the strong potential of this segment.
  • Meena Bazaar (Drive-through): A key market for the Indian diaspora, with 70% North Indian customers, showcased jewellery preferences influenced by cultural and regional demand.
  • Sharjah Show – 56th Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show: The day concluded with a visit to the iconic Sharjah Expo Centre, giving participants a close look at one of the region’s most prominent jewellery exhibitions, marked by its scale and diversity.

The day blended technical insights with practical market exposure, underlining the immense opportunities awaiting Indian exporters in the Middle East jewellery sector.
