Day 2 Highlights: EMP 4th Batch at IJEX Deep Dives into UAE Market Insights

The 4th cohort of the Exporter Mentorship Programme (EMP), organised by GJEPC from 22nd to 26th September at the India Jewellery Exposition Centre (IJEX) in Dubai, advanced its agenda of boosting exports to the UAE with an action-packed second day of interactive sessions and experiential learning:

  • Handling Your Valuables – Conducted by Ferrari Logistics, with experts Mr. Khurshid (12 years in jewellery freight forwarding) and Mr. Silvestar (10 years in logistics), the session provided practical guidance on ensuring secure and efficient movement of jewellery shipments across international markets.
  • Market Mechanics in Gold Jewellery – Presented by Mr. Sumer Sagar (Yug), who explained the dynamics of the gold jewellery trade across different purities (18kt, 21kt, 22kt), shedding light on critical elements like wastage, making charges, and pricing models.
  • Mall of the Emirates Tour – Delegates experienced the luxury retail atmosphere, gaining insights into premium jewellery designs and evolving consumer preferences.
  • Gold & Diamond Park Exploration – A specialised hub serving Western, European, German, and Russian communities, where participants observed niche market trends in diamond jewellery and gathered valuable design and business knowledge.

Day 2 reinforced IJEX Dubai’s pivotal role in enabling Indian exporters to tap into the UAE and broader GCC markets, strengthening their international reach.
