Creativity Shines Bright: IIG Students Make Their Mark at NJA 2025

The International Institute of Gemology (IIG), a global leader in gem and jewellery education, proudly announced the outstanding success of its students at the National Jewellery Awards (NJA) 2025. This year, four IIG students – Pratibha Sheshagiri, Priyanshi Chaudhary, Siddhi Lokhande, and Ujjwal Adeshara – won accolades at one of India’s most prestigious platforms for jewellery design and innovation. Their achievements highlight how education, mentorship, and opportunity, combined with passion, can create remarkable success stories.

For IIG, these awards represent more than individual recognition; they embody the institute’s founding philosophy since 1965 – to empower aspiring jewellery professionals from all walks of life, regardless of geography or background. The institute provides students with mentorship, confidence, and opportunities to excel at the highest levels of creativity and professionalism.

Reflecting on the achievement, Rahul Desai, CEO & MD of IIG, said:
“My vision has always been that every IIG student, from their very first sketch to their hundredth design, should gain recognition that truly reflects their journey. The NJA makes this possible by offering an equal platform where creativity is celebrated without limits. Over the years, IIG has grown into a complete ecosystem of education and leadership. We go beyond teaching skills to shaping mindsets – encouraging our students to design with intention, lead with purpose, and present their vision with clarity and confidence.”

Underscoring its commitment to inclusivity, IIG has also launched a Scholarship Program at NJA, worth lakhs of rupees, to support hardworking and passionate students. This initiative ensures that young talents from diverse backgrounds have equal opportunities to learn, grow, and build careers in the gem and jewellery industry.

Gunjan Sapra, COO and Head of Department at IIG, shared:
“As someone who has dedicated my life to design, I truly understand the value of recognition for a student. When their creativity is not only acknowledged but celebrated, it carries immense meaning. Talent should never be defined by geography or circumstance—a student from a Tier 2 city can display just as much, if not more, passion as one from a Tier 1 hub. Similarly, the dedication of an offline learner can match that of someone in a structured classroom. What NJA has achieved is remarkable—it brings every student to the same platform, offering equal opportunity. That is both inspiring and humbling.”

The achievements of Pratibha, Priyanshi, Siddhi, and Ujjwal exemplify this vision. Each year, IIG prepares its students for prestigious competitions, enabling them to showcase their creativity and skills not only nationally at NJA but also on international platforms. These accomplishments reflect more than technical excellence—they demonstrate resilience, bold creativity, and the courage to showcase their ideas before the world.

Echoing this, Rahul Desai added:
“Designing is one skill, but presenting your vision with confidence is where true success lies. At IIG, we nurture not just technical ability, but also the confidence that transforms students into leaders, and dreams into realities that change lives.”

Since its inception, IIG has remained a cornerstone for jewellery education and professional growth. Under the leadership of Rahul Desai, it is now recognized globally as a world-class center for gemology and jewellery education.

The NJA 2025 results proved that when opportunity is combined with the right support system, excellence follows. It showed that talent can emerge from anywhere, and once placed on the right stage, it shines without limits.

For the winners, this is not the end but the beginning—the start of many more dreams that will move beyond sketches into creations that inspire, influence, and endure for generations.
