Rio Tinto has announced its last Beyond Rare™ Tender, Into the Light, presenting 52 exceptional diamond lots from the Argyle mine in Australia and the Diavik mine in Canada.
This third edition of the annual Art Series includes 45.44 carats of rare pink, red, violet, yellow, and white diamonds. The collection highlights six “Masterpieces” sets, 39 individual stones, and seven curated sets. Notable gems include a GIA Fancy Red, 12 Fancy Violet diamonds, 76 Fancy Pink varieties, two flawless D-colour whites, and a 6.12-carat Fancy Vivid Yellow.
With Argyle having closed in 2020 and Diavik nearing its end in 2026, the tender signifies the closing of a historic chapter. Patrick Coppens, General Manager of Sales & Marketing for Rio Tinto’s Diamonds business, remarked:
“This final collection reflects the extraordinary legacy of two remarkable mining regions – Western Australia’s East Kimberley and Canada’s Northwest Territories. No other company has ever curated such a spectrum of diamond colours, shapes, and sizes, and we honour the dedicated men and women who brought them to the world.”
The 52-lot collection will be exhibited in Hong Kong, Australia, and Antwerp, with bidding open until 20 October 2025.
