The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) recently held an informative webinar titled “Training for Online Application of Appendix 4 ‘O’,” aimed at guiding members through the digital process of applying for the Appendix 4 ‘O’ Certificate. This certificate is essential for exporters seeking replenishment of gold and silver used in jewellery sold at international exhibitions, during export promotion tours, or through branded exports.
The session attracted 32 engaged participants. Mr. Antarpal Singh Sawhney, Regional Chairman – North, GJEPC, urged members to leverage the scheme to enhance their global outreach. Mr. K.K. Duggal, Director – Policy, provided a detailed overview of the relevant guidelines within the Foreign Trade Policy and Handbook of Procedures, explaining the clauses specific to Appendix 4 ‘O’.
Mr. Duggal also highlighted GJEPC’s initiative to offer smaller gold denominations (less than 1 kg), a move that benefited 20 exporters in the previous fiscal year.
Mr. Sanjay Madaan, Chief Manager (M&R), presented a live demonstration of the application submission process via GJEPC’s online portal. The session concluded with a Q&A segment, moderated by Mr. Ali Bharmal, Manager (International Events), where both Mr. Duggal and Mr. Madaan addressed participant questions.
