
Platinum Guild International (PGI) India is gearing up for the 8th edition of its annual Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet, scheduled to take place in Kochi, Kerala on June 26-27, 2025. The event will see participation from 14 prominent platinum jewellery manufacturers and over 60 leading retailers nationwide. This year’s theme emphasizes success, innovation, and growth, with a focus on strengthening platinum’s appeal among modern Indian consumers.
Vaishali Banerjee, Managing Director of PGI India & Middle East and Head of Global Market Development, PGI, remarked, “As we enter the 8th edition, consumer preferences are clearly shifting, with platinum capturing increased attention due to changing tastes and attractive pricing. This year, we aim to accelerate growth through innovative design narratives and compelling marketing strategies that broaden platinum’s relevance and occasions for wear.”
Retailers shared similar views. Dr. Joy Alukkas described the meet as a “crucial forum” to stay in tune with consumer trends. Dr. Saurabh Gadgil of PNG Jewellers noted the growing popularity of platinum among younger buyers and self-purchasers. Suvankar Sen of Senco Gold highlighted affordability and purity as key reasons behind the metal’s rising demand.
Participating manufacturers are set to showcase a diverse array of new creations, including modular and bi-metal designs, bold men’s pieces, and intricately engineered silhouettes. Brands such as Prism, ORO, BN Jewellers, Emerald, Jewelex, and Kama Jewellery will present collections catering to evolving market tastes, with an emphasis on customization, contemporary aesthetics, and design-forward offerings.
