
The Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), India’s largest and most advanced diamond trading hub, has received the SURAKSHIT MUMBAI AWARD 2025 for Best Security and Command Centre in Premises of the Year.
This distinguished award honors BDB‘s exceptional dedication to security, technological innovation, and emergency preparedness.
SymX, PSP, and the ASIS Mumbai Chapter staged a prestigious celebration at The Westin, Powai, to give the prize. The event recognized Mumbai-based institutions that have excelled in safety standards, crisis management, and security infrastructure innovation.
BDB‘s Department of Security & Fire Safety won special praise for its strong command center operations and proactive safety management. Shri Shirish Inamdar Ji, Mr. Samir Jha, Mr. Mahesh Kaloni, and Mr. Ramesh Khodke attended the event to represent BDB.
Shri Santosh Bahadur Singh, Commandant of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), presented the award in front of an audience of government officials, security experts, and industry executives.
Mr. Harjinder Kang, British Deputy High Commissioner (Chief Guest), attended the event, as did Guests of Honour Mr. Shyam Jagannathan (Director General Shipping), Mr. D. Sivanandhan (Former DGP, Maharashtra), Mr. Brijesh Singh (Principal Secretary), and Mr. Vishwas Nangre Patil (ADG, Anti-Corruption).
This accomplishment adds to BDB’s extensive list of national and state awards, and it holds special significance as a hometown honor. It demonstrates BDB’s leadership in integrating world-class technology, operational discipline, and safety measures into its infrastructure.
