On May 28, 2025, Anglo American Platinum Limited formally changed its name to Valterra Platinum Limited, and it began trading on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) under the new name.
The move ushers in a new era for one of the top platinum producers in South Africa. The rebrand was finalized after receiving regulatory authorization from the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission, and it was approved by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting on May 8.
With the short name “Valterra” and ISIN ZAE000013181, Valterra Platinum is now traded on the JSE under the share code “VAL.” May 27 was the last day of trading under the Anglo American Platinum moniker.
While account modifications reflecting the new name will be finished by June 2nd, the record deadline for stockholders is May 30th.
As the firm seeks to capitalize on its tradition with a refreshed brand identity, the JSE launch under the Valterra name represents both continuity and a daring repositioning in the market.
