Gemological Science International (GSI) has opened its 14th laboratory, this one in Bangkok. The new lab, located in the city’s gem and jewellery center, will cater to both domestic and foreign clientele.
The GSI Thailand lab provides a wide range of services, including testing, grading, and certification for colored gemstones, natural and lab-grown diamonds, finished jewelry, and pearls. The screening and identification of undeclared lab-grown diamonds and simulants will be a top priority.
Debbie Azar, President of GSI, stated, “Our purpose is to continue growing our laboratories to meet the changing needs of the business while reinforcing trust through objective, science-based gemmological services. Bangkok has historically been a global hub for colored gemstone trading, and it is critical for GSI to have a strong presence here, near to where our clients operate.”
