Export of the First Hand-Carried Jewelry GJEPC was executed from the Mumbai Airport.

Directly from the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) premises at Mumbai Airport, the first-ever hand carriage export was successfully completed. Through the cooperation of GJEPC, Customs officers, operational staff, BDB authorities, the trade community, and Customs House Agents (CHAs), the package, valued at ₹7.5 crore, was successfully passed.

The traveler, who was due to board an international aircraft at 2:00 am on May 20, picked up the export package at the authorized airport counter after immigration. GJEPC expressed its sincere appreciation to all parties involved for their assistance. Notification has been sent to the Council’s recently opened office at BDB, and in a few days, a formal notification designating BDB as the custodian is anticipated.

This achievement is seen as a significant step in enhancing business convenience and strengthening India’s standing as a major global center for gems and jewelry.
