
The Jewellery and Gemstone Association of Africa (JGAA) has collaborated with GemGenève, a renowned international jewellery fair taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, to highlight the craftsmanship of African gemstone artisans, particularly through partnerships with organizations such as Nsanshi Art, a Zambian institution dedicated to jewelry design; this collaboration seeks to elevate African gemstone artistry on a global level.
JGAA has teamed up with GemGenève and the Africa Jewellery Week™ Exhibition to launch our inaugural competition titled “It is All in Our Hands,” which will take place at GemGenève from May 8th to May 11th, 2025. The competition, “It is All in Our Hands,” is designed to showcase Africa’s talents at one of the most prominent industry exhibitions.
The competition is currently open for entries, and we invite you to participate if: You are a permanent resident of the African Continent (Category 1 – Emerging Jeweller) or If you identify as being of African descent and can demonstrate your expertise at the exhibition. This category for competition is available to individuals of African descent residing in Africa or the broader diaspora (Category 2 – Expert Technician).
There will be six winners in Category 1 and two winners in Category 2. The winning entries will be displayed in the JGAA’s Africa Jewellery Week™ Exhibition space at GemGenève, with the competition awards announced during the exhibition.
