RapNet, Rapaport Group’s online diamond trade network, is introducing its Gemstone trade Network, which will expand the platform to include loose colored stones. RapNet Gemstones will formally debut at the AGTA Gem Fair in Tucson next month. The RapNet Gemstone Trading Network, created in conjunction with the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA), incorporates AGTA’s ethical standards and arbitration procedures to promote confidence and openness in gemstone trading.
RapNet’s COO, Saville Stern, stated, “We are happy to provide gem merchants the chance to connect and trade 24 hours a day. Our platform enables merchants to access a large number of buyers, while consumers can easily select the perfect gemstone at the appropriate price, anytime and anywhere. The work with AGTA has been important in developing a platform that fulfills the needs of the modern gem trade, and we are convinced that this alliance will benefit gem buyers and sellers throughout the industry.”
AGTA President Kimberly Collins and AGTA CEO John W. Ford, Sr. said, “AGTA, as the pioneer of ethical gem trading and colored gemstone disclosures, is proud to partner with RapNet to bring this coloured gemstone marketplace to the world.”
