To address the growing concern of maintaining transparency in diamond terminology, GJEPC<\/a> met with senior authorities from the Department of Consumer Affairs in New Delhi today, November 13. The necessity of requiring the provenance of diamonds, whether they are lab-grown or natural, to be disclosed in exported jewelry was the main topic of discussion. The Department of Consumer Affairs’ Secretary, Ms. Nidhi Khare, and Additional Secretary, Mr. Bharat Khera, recognized the importance of the problem and gave the GJEPC<\/a> their full support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Monika Mohta, Advisor, GJEPC, and Mr. Milan Chokshi, Member, Diamond Panel, GJEPC<\/a>, emphasized the value of ethical business practices and consumer trust.
