GJEPC<\/a>‘s Kolkata Regional Office, in partnership with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)<\/a> Kolkata, successfully hosted an E-Commerce Export Summit on October 21, 2024, at the Ankurhati Gems & Jewellery Park in Howrah, West Bengal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit’s goal was to educate and guide new entrants and aspiring businesses in the diamond jewellery industry in Howrah District about the benefits of e-commerce export. The event included talks from several government agencies and industry specialists, who highlighted the amenities provided only to GJEPC<\/a> members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shri Amit Bhardwaj, IRS, Joint Commissioner of Customs, Kolkata, served as the event’s principal guest, while Shri Vishnu Kant, ITS, Deputy DGFT<\/a> Kolkata, and Shri Pankaj Parekh, Eastern Regional Chairman, GJEPC<\/a>, also attended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit covered a wide range of issues, including the onboarding process on Amazon International, government incentives for MSMEs, India Post’s “Dakghar Niryat Kendra” (DNK) initiative, and the services provided by DHL India Ltd<\/a>. Participants were able to ask questions and learn useful insights from the professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shri Pankaj Parekh<\/a> greeted the attendees and emphasized the GJEPC<\/a>‘s commitment to growing exports and benefiting its members. Mr. Kaushik Ghosh, Assistant Director, GJEPC<\/a>, spoke about the potential of jewelry made in Howrah District, as well as the chances accessible in the online marketplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit, which drew roughly 85 attendees, was universally considered as instructive and valuable to Howrah District jewellery manufacturers.
