The American Gem Society’s 2024 Conclave<\/a> in Austin, TX, was a beacon of distinction, honoring extraordinary achievements and dedication within its community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A set of important awards were given out at the 2024 Conclave to recognize outstanding efforts and devotion within the American Gem Society<\/a> community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Tuesday brunch general session, Amanda Coleman-Phelps, CGA, Chair of the International Guilds Council<\/a>, presented the first of three awards, the Sallie Morton Award. This year, Jewelers Mutual Group received the honor for their steadfast collaboration and considerable support of AGS since 2008. Coleman-Phelps stated, “Jewelers Mutual Group exemplifies unwavering support for AGS and its members.” As the Guild’s sponsor, they have played an important role in advocating for continued member education, frequently arranging key workshops on areas such as company security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coleman-Phelps then presented the Guild of the Year Award to Andy Martin<\/a>, CEO of Wishfluence<\/a> and President of the Northwest Arkansas Guild, praising Martin’s innovative and community-focused approach in the industry, stating, “Andy embodies innovation and community engagement within the jewellery sector.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coleman-Phelps also received the John J. Kennedy Award, which recognizes law enforcement officials who provide exemplary service and assistance to the jewelry business. This year, Supervisory Special Agent Jeffrey Rolands was recognized for his outstanding contributions to improving industrial safety and assisting AGS members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Mays, CGA, of John Mays Jewelers<\/a>, was honored as the Young Titleholder of the Year at the annual Titleholders Luncheon on April 17. Maria Brown, RJ, previous Chair of the Young Titleholders committee, presented Mays with the award and praised him for his outstanding efforts on the committee, noting, “Kevin<\/a> is dedicated, visionary, and inspiring.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC)<\/a>, in partnership with the Young Titleholders Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, provided a Conclave registration scholarship to one of its members. Ms. Brown announced Valerie Madison as the recipient of this scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brown also recognized the Young Titleholders Conclave Scholarship awardees, who received Conclave registrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
