The All India Gem and jewelry Domestic Council (GJC)<\/a> today launched its flagship event, the India Gems and Jewellery Show<\/a> (GJS April Show), at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, to bring together jewelry wholesalers and retailers ahead of the Christmas season. The four-day GJS<\/a> April 2024 event, dubbed #HumaraApnaShow, began on Tuesday with nearly all industry executives attending this must-attend B2B expo. The GJS<\/a> April 2024 show will run till April 5th, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was opened by the Chief Guest, Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha<\/a>, Hon’ble Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, Government of Maharashtra, with Keynote Speakers Shri Rajesh Kalyanraman – Executive Director, Kalyan Jewellers<\/a>, Shri Sunil Nayak, Chief Executive Officer, Reliance Jewels<\/a>, and Mr. Rajiv Jain, Secretary, Jaipur Jewellery Show<\/a>. The GJS<\/a> April 2024 Show has established itself as a ‘Not-to-Miss industry event’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 600+ stalls and 350+ exhibitors showcasing their creative items. GJC<\/a> also provides complementary food and water, as well as arranging for buyers to stay in over 2000 hotels. Over 200 international customers have registered for the GJS<\/a> April 2024 event, with attendees from Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar, Bangladesh, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Bangkok, among others. The Show is intentionally scheduled before Gudi Padwa and Akshaya Tritiya, providing an excellent chance for shops to discover and immerse themselves in trendsetting designs. Furthermore, all safeguards for products movement throughout the Achar Sanhita period have been painstakingly implemented, ensuring seamless operations and regulatory compliance, and the exhibition is strictly a B2B event with no physical sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GJC<\/a> is also hosting a Gala evening, GJC Nite, on April 3, 2024, at Hotel Sahara Star<\/a>. GJC<\/a> Nite, presented by IDT Gemmological Laboratories Worldwide, is an ideal venue for honouring jewellers. There will also be a Fashion Show featuring famous Indian models and celebrities presenting some of India’s greatest jewellery creations by renowned jewellers. The supporting partners are De Beers<\/a>, Laxmi Diamonds<\/a>, and Platinum Guild International<\/a>, with fashion shows by RK Bracelets, Padmavati Chains, Shubham Motiwala Jewellers, and Unique Chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha<\/a> addressed the audience, saying, “This expo has invigorated the whole Indian jewellery sector. Our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has created a business-friendly environment that will allow us to increase our sales and grow enormously. This is an ideal period for business growth because it is India’s decade. The biggest global businessmen see India as a potential growth market, which might increase the size of our jewellery industry in the next years. Our Prime Minister envisions India with minimal government intervention over the next 20 years. We anticipate the jewellery business moving to a more structured sector in the future.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shri Sunil Nayak, Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Jewels<\/a>, stated, “GJS<\/a> has evolved into India’s top event. It provides a conducive environment for all of us, including exhibitors and retailers, to make good deals, stay up to date on market changes, and deliver them to our customers. We, as retailers, learn a lot from such platforms while also benefiting our customers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shri. Saiyam Mehra, Chairman of GJC<\/a> and Convenor of the GJS<\/a> April 2024 Show, stated, “Our team has made significant efforts over the last four GJS<\/a> events to motivate our five-six million karigars to the next level, to introduce innovations in jewellery designs, and manufacturing across the entire micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME). We have organised around 165 Labham to help our jewellers comply with regulations. The sector spans 300,000 Jewelles, with 75,000 stores directly affiliated with GJC<\/a>. GJC<\/a> has held road shows in 150 cities. We anticipate that over 10,000 shops will attend this major show and transact around 20 tonnes of commerce in gold, silver, diamonds, precious stones, machines, and other items during the following four days.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rajesh Kalyanraman, Executive Director of Kalyan Jewellers<\/a>, observed, “We have experienced several hurdles in gold rates, as certain states have reduced gold rates. I am not sure if it is legal to undercut gold rates. However, in order to flourish together, we must emphasize transparency in the jewellery business. Our customers must sense the transparency.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shri Rajesh Rokde, Vice Chairman of GJC<\/a>, stated, “GJC<\/a> has developed to become an apex body in India. We work 360 degrees to help the jewelry sector flourish as a whole. We offer initiatives such as Labham and Manthan, as well as conferences, to promote the overall growth of this business. India is currently experiencing its ‘Amrit Kaal’, often known as the ‘Golden Era’ of the Indian jewellery industry. Our country is transitioning from a Developing Nation to a Developed India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
