The US benchmark 10 year yields have been rising for the past six days as hotter than expected US CPI in January and February prompted traders to dial back bets on the pace and scope of monetary easing expected this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geo-political tensions also remained high, boosting the allure for safe haven metal. A record win secured by Russian President <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vladimir_Putin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vladimir Putin<\/a> in the Presidential elections raise warning signs in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, while Ukraine attacked Russian energy facilities over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netanyahu.org.il\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a> said he will proceed with plans to push into Gaza\u2019s Rafah enclave, making chances for a peace agreement more difficult and adding to the geo-political risk premium. Now the major focus is on the FOMC meeting due tomorrow where the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Reserve<\/a> is expected to hold the rates steady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the attention will be on updated projections and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/aboutthefed\/bios\/board\/powell.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fed chair Jerome Powell\u2019s<\/a> guidance on rate cut timing.
