{"id":7611,"date":"2024-03-05T05:56:46","date_gmt":"2024-03-05T05:56:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jewellerynewsindia.com\/?p=7611"},"modified":"2024-03-05T05:59:54","modified_gmt":"2024-03-05T05:59:54","slug":"us-issued-executive-order-on-russian-diamonds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jewellerynewsindia.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/05\/us-issued-executive-order-on-russian-diamonds\/","title":{"rendered":"US issued executive order on Russian diamonds!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized has-custom-border\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"404\" src=\"https:\/\/jewellerynewsindia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Russian-diamond.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7613\" style=\"border-width:3px;border-radius:5px;width:547px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jewellerynewsindia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Russian-diamond.jpg 600w, https:\/\/jewellerynewsindia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Russian-diamond-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jewellerynewsindia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Russian-diamond-200x135.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued their executive order taking additional steps with respect to the Russian Federation\u2019s Harmful Activities \u2013 guidance on non-industrial diamonds and diamond jewelry and unsorted diamonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Executive order, beginning on the effective date of March 1, 2024, all entry and certified from summary transactions as well as goods admitted into a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) that include the affected commodities as outlined below will require a self-certification statement to be uploaded to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/trade\/automated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/ACE%20Basics%20-%20DIS_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Document Image System (DIS)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To understand the background, it is remember that on December 6, 2023, the G7 Leaders announced a coordinated international effort to impose phased restrictions on the importation of certain Russian diamonds, including diamonds processed in third countries.\u00a0 On December 22, 2023, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/administration\/president-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">President Biden<\/a> issued Executive Order (EO) 14114, Taking Additional Steps with Respect to the Russian Federation\u2019s Harmful Activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Executive Order (EO) 14114, the Filing Requirements begins &amp; the effective date of March 1, 2024, all entry and certified from summary transactions as well as goods admitted into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trade.gov\/about-ftzs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ)<\/a> that include the affected commodities will require a self-certification statement to be uploaded to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/trade\/automated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/ACE%20Basics%20-%20DIS_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Document Image System (DIS)<\/a>.
