No. 4(20) \u2013W&amp;M\/2017 dated July 06, 2017 (SGB 2017-18, Series II &#8211; Issue date July 28, 2017) on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbi.org.in\/commonperson\/English\/Scripts\/FAQs.aspx?Id=1658#:~:text=SGBs%20are%20government%20securities%20denominated,behalf%20of%20Government%20of%20India.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme<\/a>, premature redemption of Gold Bond may be permitted after fifth year from the date of issue of such Gold Bond on the date on which interest is payable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accordingly, the next due date of premature redemption of the above tranche will be January 25, 2024 (January 26, 27 and 28 being holiday, non-working Saturday and Sunday respectively).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, the redemption price of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbi.org.in\/commonperson\/English\/Scripts\/FAQs.aspx?Id=1658#:~:text=SGBs%20are%20government%20securities%20denominated,behalf%20of%20Government%20of%20India.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SGB<\/a> shall be based on the simple average of closing gold price of 999 purity of the week (Monday-Friday) preceding the date of redemption, as published by the <a href=\"https:\/\/ibja.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd (IBJA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accordingly, the redemption price for premature redemption due on January 25, 2024 (January 26, 27 and 28 being holiday, non-working Saturday and Sunday respectively) shall be Rs 6,239\/- (Rupees Six thousand two hundred and thirty-nine only) per unit of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbi.org.in\/commonperson\/English\/Scripts\/FAQs.aspx?Id=1658#:~:text=SGBs%20are%20government%20securities%20denominated,behalf%20of%20Government%20of%20India.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SGB<\/a> based on the simple average of closing gold price for the week January 15-19, 2024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RBI announced premature redemption under Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) Scheme &#8211; Redemption Price for premature redemption due on January 25, 2024 (January 26, 27 and 28 being holiday, non-working Saturday and Sunday respectively) (SGB 2017-18 Series II).
