Organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with SHE Kantha, the special presentation titled <em>\u201cDevi Durga: \u015aakti, M\u0101tri, Karu\u1e47\u0101\u201d<\/em> has been unveiled in the museum\u2019s Central Courtyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adding to the significance of this landmark celebration, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bamalwa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nemichand Bamalwa &amp; Sons<\/a> has crafted bespoke gold jewellery for Goddess Durga and her divine children<\/strong>, bringing together traditional craftsmanship, cultural symbolism and the rich heritage of Bengal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The jewellery forms part of the museum\u2019s special programme, which explores historical depictions of the Divine Feminine alongside contemporary expressions of Bengal\u2019s traditional arts and crafts. The exhibition, <em>\u201cDevi Durga \u2013 From Matri to Mahashakti\u201d<\/em>, traces the evolution of the goddess\u2019s representations, adornments and spiritual significance through the ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nav Avatar Necklace Celebrates the Nine Forms of Maa Durga<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The centrepiece of the jewellery presentation is the <strong>Nav Avatar necklace<\/strong>, specially designed for Maa Durga. Inspired by the nine days of Navratri and the goddess\u2019s nine manifestations, the necklace brings these sacred representations together in a single statement piece. It symbolically connects the nationwide celebration of Navratri with Bengal\u2019s cherished tradition of welcoming the goddess home during Durga Puja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside Maa Durga\u2019s adornment, Nemichand Bamalwa &amp; Sons has created traditional jewellery for Maa Lakshmi, Maa Saraswati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya, incorporating distinctive design elements that reflect each deity\u2019s iconography and spiritual identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maa Mahalakshmi is depicted in her <strong>Gajalakshmi form<\/strong>, with silk elements integrated into her adornment. Meanwhile, Maa Saraswati\u2019s jewellery incorporates the sacred Hamsa motif, symbolising wisdom and knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Traditional Craftsmanship Meets Bengal\u2019s Artistic Heritage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In keeping with Bengal\u2019s revered <em>Sabeki<\/em> tradition, the idols crafted by artisans from Kumartuli retain their natural, unfinished clay appearance. This aesthetic aligns with the celebration\u2019s Swadeshi and Sanatani ethos, placing indigenous craftsmanship and cultural heritage at its heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Complementing the idols, heritage jewellery house <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bamalwa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nemichand Bamalwa &amp; Sons<\/a><\/strong> has adorned the deities with custom-made real gold temple jewellery embellished with fine Polki and diamonds, creating a harmonious blend of traditional artistry and intricate detailing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Month of Dedicated Artistry and Design<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bespoke jewellery pieces were developed over a month through the collaborative efforts of master <em>karigars<\/em> and technical designers.
