Merchandise average unit retail rose by approximately <strong>6%<\/strong>. Adjusted operating income climbed to <strong>$107.2 million<\/strong>, up from <strong>$85.4 million<\/strong>, while adjusted diluted earnings per share increased to <strong>$2.19<\/strong>, compared with <strong>$1.61<\/strong> a year earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Gross margin expanded by 80 basis points to 39.4%<\/strong>, aided by tariff refunds as well as lower inventory and distribution expenses. These gains were partially offset by increased gold costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Signet CEO <strong>J.K. Symancyk<\/strong> said all of the company\u2019s fine jewellery brands recorded positive comparable sales, alongside <strong>high-single-digit unit growth in higher price points<\/strong>. The company is also stepping up merchandise updates, customer-experience initiatives and marketing efforts ahead of the holiday shopping season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the quarter&#8217;s performance, Signet <strong>raised its Fiscal 2027 guidance<\/strong>. Adjusted diluted EPS is now projected at <strong>$10.45\u2013$12.15<\/strong>, compared with the previous range of <strong>$9.20\u2013$11.00<\/strong>. Adjusted operating income guidance was also increased to <strong>$535\u2013$605 million<\/strong>, from <strong>$480\u2013$560 million<\/strong>. Full-year sales expectations remain unchanged at <strong>$6.7\u2013$6.9 billion<\/strong>, while same-store sales are now expected to range from <strong>flat to a 2.5% increase<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the quarter, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.signetjewelers.com\/our-home\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Signet<\/a> repurchased approximately <strong>1 million shares for $87 million<\/strong> and announced plans for a <strong>$125 million accelerated share repurchase programme<\/strong>.
