The new additions are expected to support Dubai\u2019s continued growth as a key international centre for the diamond and precious stones industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Neil Ventura has been appointed Member and Secretary of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dmcc.ae\/ecosystems\/diamonds\/dde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DDE<\/a> Board. With more than three decades of experience spanning mining, diamond trading, jewellery, and technology, Ventura has held senior positions at De Beers and Anglo American and currently serves as Special Advisor to <a href=\"https:\/\/dmcc.ae\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DMCC<\/a>\u2019s Precious Stones Ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joining the board is Weizhang Liang, former President of the Guangzhou Diamond Exchange and China\u2019s Kimberley Process focal point for over 15 years. He brings deep knowledge of international diamond regulations and the Chinese diamond market and also served as an advisor during the UAE\u2019s Kimberley Process Chairmanship in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wafa Jaffery, a veteran member of <a href=\"https:\/\/dmcc.ae\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DMCC<\/a>\u2019s Precious Stones team, also joins the board. In 2026, she was elected to the Board of Directors of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worlddiamondcouncil.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Diamond Council<\/a> and currently contributes to both the Kimberley Process Task Force and the Responsible Jewellery Council Standards Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commenting on the appointments, <a href=\"https:\/\/dmcc.ae\/about\/executive-chairman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ahmed Bin Sulayem<\/a> said they would further strengthen the exchange\u2019s capacity to drive industry growth and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He noted that the success of the Dubai Diamond Exchange is rooted in the extensive expertise within <a href=\"https:\/\/dmcc.ae\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DMCC<\/a>\u2019s precious stones ecosystem, adding that the appointments highlight the strong leadership developed by <a href=\"https:\/\/dmcc.ae\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DMCC<\/a> over the years while reinforcing Dubai\u2019s standing as a global hub for the diamond and precious stones trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/dmcc.ae\/ecosystems\/diamonds\/dde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DDE<\/a> is recognised as the world\u2019s largest diamond tender facility and serves as a major trading platform for rough and polished diamonds, coloured gemstones, and pearls.
