Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon\u2019ble Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Government of India<\/a><\/strong>, inaugurated the Customs Export-Import Facilitation Centre (CEIFC)<\/strong> at SDF-VIII, SEEPZ-SEZ<\/a>, Mumbai<\/strong>, on 19 June 2026, reinforcing efforts to enhance trade facilitation and streamline export-import operations within the special economic zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inauguration ceremony was hosted by Shri Dnyaneshwar B. Patil, IAS, Zonal Development Commissioner, SEEPZ-SEZ<\/a><\/strong>, and attended by senior officials including Shri Mayur R. Mankar, IRS, Joint Development Commissioner, SEEPZ<\/a><\/strong>, and Dr. Sandip D. Bhosale, IRS, Deputy Development Commissioner, SEEPZ<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prominent industry leaders present at the event included Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC; Shaunak Parikh, Vice Chairman, GJEPC<\/a>; Adil Kotwal, President, SGJMA; Colin Shah, Chairman \u2013 Working Group, Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC<\/a>;<\/strong> and Vijay Gujarathi, Chairman, SEEMA<\/strong>, among other members of the trade and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the gathering, Shri Jitin Prasada<\/a><\/strong> highlighted the importance of modernising trade infrastructure to meet evolving industry requirements. He noted that the state-of-the-art facility would particularly support small exporters by improving logistics, accelerating customs clearances, and strengthening India\u2019s export competitiveness. He further emphasised that such initiatives are crucial for building a robust export ecosystem and positioning India as a leading global trade and manufacturing hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC<\/a><\/strong>, welcomed the recent FTWZ Broad-Banding approval for the Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC<\/strong>, describing it as a major step forward for India\u2019s gem and jewellery sector. He stated that the approval would enable international warehousing, product viewing, and exhibition activities under one roof, attracting greater global participation, creating new opportunities for MSMEs, and enhancing India\u2019s standing as a preferred destination for gem and jewellery manufacturing, sourcing, and trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newly established CEIFC<\/strong> has been developed as a modern single-window facility, integrating key customs functions within a secure and efficient environment.
