The Board of the Natural Diamond Council (NDC)<\/a> has announced the formal induction of Angola\u2019s ENDIAMA E.P.<\/a> and SODIAM E.P.<\/a> as members of the organization, following the successful completion of all required legal and regulatory processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ENDIAMA E.P.<\/a> (Empresa Nacional de Diamantes de Angola) is Angola\u2019s state-owned diamond mining enterprise, entrusted with the management and sustainable development of the country\u2019s diamond resources for the benefit of its people. SODIAM E.P.<\/a> (Empresa Nacional de Comercializa\u00e7\u00e3o de Diamantes de Angola) serves as Angola\u2019s state-owned diamond trading authority and the sole channel for the export of Angolan diamonds, responsible for the global marketing and commercialization of the nation\u2019s natural diamond production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This development aligns with the commitments outlined in the Luanda Accord, co-signed in June 2025 by diamond-producing nations and key industry stakeholders, including Angola, Botswana, De Beers, and midstream representatives. The Accord reflects a unified resolve to support the long-term health, integrity, and sustainability of the natural diamond industry, as well as the communities that depend on it. Angola\u2019s recent financial contribution to the NDC<\/a> underscores the concrete action initiated through the Accord and reinforces its shared vision to strengthen industry-wide marketing and consumer education efforts led by the NDC<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on the announcement, Sandrine Conseiller, CEO of De Beers Brands and Chair of the NDC<\/a>, said, \u201cThe future of our industry depends on our collective ability to tell the authentic story of natural diamonds\u2014highlighting both their desirability and their role in driving development. I am pleased to welcome ENDIAMA E.P.<\/a> and SODIAM E.P.<\/a> as members of the Natural Diamond Council<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By broadening representation across the natural diamond value chain, the NDC<\/a> aims to further amplify the industry\u2019s collective voice, enhance consumer education, and strengthen trust in natural diamonds as rare and valuable creations of nature with meaningful social and economic impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
