Alrosa<\/a> has joined forces with Sber<\/a>, a top Russian financial and tech company, to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) into its mining operations. The collaboration was formalized through a signed agreement at the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by Alrosa CEO Pavel Marinychev and Sberbank<\/a> Deputy Chairman Anatoly Popov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This strategic alliance aims to deploy AI-driven digital tools such as computer vision, image recognition, and video analytics to improve operational accuracy and reduce human error. These technologies will help monitor production levels, conduct quality checks, diagnose equipment performance, and enhance road safety at mining sites in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A major component of the initiative is the adoption of large language models (LLMs) to streamline Alrosa<\/a>\u2019s internal processes. These AI tools will automate tasks like document creation, data analysis, and quick retrieval of information from extensive geological records using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration also includes joint efforts in AI research, algorithm development, creation of training datasets, and the exchange of machine learning expertise. The overarching goal is to improve productivity and cut costs across Alrosa<\/a>\u2019s production, logistics, and administrative functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
