Gold jewellery exports grew by <strong>17.24%<\/strong>, while overall gems and jewellery exports fell by <strong>15.81%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gold jewellery exports in May were worth <strong>$997.5 million<\/strong>, <strong>17.24% higher<\/strong> than <strong>$850.81 million<\/strong> last May. Total exports of gems and jewellery in May were worth <strong>$2.26 billion<\/strong>, a <strong>15.81% decline<\/strong> from <strong>$2.68 billion<\/strong> last May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gross exports of gems and jewellery from <strong>April to May 2025<\/strong> were worth <strong>$5.2 billion<\/strong>, <strong>4.96% higher<\/strong> than <strong>$4.95 billion<\/strong> recorded in the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cut and polished diamond exports in <strong>May 2025<\/strong> were worth <strong>$949.7 million<\/strong>, a <strong>35.49% decline<\/strong> from <strong>$1.47 billion<\/strong> in the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exports of cut and polished diamonds from <strong>April to May 2025<\/strong> stood at <strong>$2.05 billion<\/strong>, a <strong>decline of 22.41%<\/strong> from <strong>$2.65 billion<\/strong> for the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imports of rough diamonds for <strong>April to May 2025<\/strong> were worth <strong>$2.26 billion<\/strong> and showed a <strong>drop of 5.46%<\/strong> from imports of <strong>$2.39 billion<\/strong> for the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In volume terms, gross imports of rough diamonds stood at <strong>196.57 lakh carats<\/strong> during the first two months of the financial year, a <strong>1.81% decline<\/strong> from imports of <strong>200.19 lakh carats<\/strong> for the same period last year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While overall gross exports of gems and jewellery dropped in May 2025, gold jewellery exports showed positive signs.
