The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC)<\/a>, the country’s apex nodal trade body, announced the appointment of Mr. Kirit Bhansali as Chairman<\/a> and Mr. Shaunak Parikh as Vice Chairman<\/a>, as well as the formation of a new Committee of Administration (CoA) following the CoA Election 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of GJEPC<\/a>, stated, “Our vision is to drive transformative growth in India’s gem and jewellery industry through strategic initiatives, innovative projects, and collaborative efforts.” We aspire to establish India as a global leader in technology, design, and manufacture by promoting landmark projects such as the India Jewellery Park in Mumbai and the Gem Bourse in Jaipur, as well as growing our global footprint through initiatives such as Saudijex in Saudi Arabia and IJEX Dubai. Together, we will work to attain the ambitious export objective of USD 100 billion by 2047, in line with our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bhansali<\/a> went on to say, “We want to maintain India’s global leadership, capitalize on domestic market potential, and advocate for favorable policies while continuing to support our artisans.” To increase exports from the sector and promote India’s economic growth, GJEPC<\/a> has identified 17 significant clusters based on size, potential, and strategic position. By fostering these clusters, we hope to transform them into vibrant export hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Shaunak Parikh, Vice Chairman of GJEPC<\/a>, stated, “I sincerely thank all industry members for entrusting me with this duty and allowing me to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our outstanding gem and jewellery sector. This is a critical time for the industry, and the challenges ahead require strong vision and urgent action. To ensure our industry’s competitiveness on a worldwide scale, we must prioritize category promotion across all verticals, infrastructure development, skill enhancement, and the adoption of global standards.
