The International Institute of Gemology (IIG)<\/a> has teamed up with Shringar House of Mangalsutra Ltd.<\/a> to launch a new PAN-India initiative called the IIG<\/a> Designer of the Month competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This competition, which is open to IIG students across India, provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring jewelry designers to plan, create, and present their designs. Winning designs will be created in 22K and 18K gold at Shringar’s modern production plant, providing students with valuable real-world experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An experienced panel, consisting of Chetan Thadeshwar, Chairman and MD of Shringar House of Mangalsutra<\/a>, Rahul Desai, CEO and MD of IIG<\/a>, and two major jewelry shops, will assess the competition. Top finalists will receive crucial opportunities, such as paid internships and potential jobs with Shringar, as well as design sponsorships. The competition is a big step forward for IIG<\/a> in its commitment to providing practical industrial experience in addition to academic study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collaboration demonstrates IIG<\/a>‘s commitment to changing the future of jewelry design education through practical experience and industry ties. Rahul Desai, CEO of IIG<\/a>, stressed that the MoU symbolizes a dynamic approach to talent development, combining tradition with innovation. Meanwhile, Chetan Thadeshwar<\/a> emphasized Shringar’s dedication to mentoring emerging talent, encouraging creativity, and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in the jewelry industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
