The Jewelry Symposium (TJS)<\/a>, formerly known as the Santa Fe Symposium<\/a>, the flagship worldwide event for jewelry production technology, will be held at the Detroit Marriott Troy from May 17 to 20, 2025, with an emphasis on innovative technologies and sustainability. This year’s symposium will go beyond its customary focus on metallurgy and craftsmanship, addressing crucial industry concerns like as responsible sourcing, AI integration, and new production processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We had an unprecedented number of proposals and abstracts for 2025, and we are delighted that many of our respected presenters will be focusing on timely and important issues like sustainability and technology,” says Linus Drogs, TJS Board Chairman<\/a>. “We are grateful to the experts who will be sharing the latest information on CAD, AI, and additive manufacturing (3-D printing), as well as the group of professionals focused on sustainability related to a responsible supply chain and the tracing of coloured gemstones.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The symposium will offer presentations from world-renowned professionals, catering to a diverse audience of bench jewelers, designers, manufacturers, students, retailers, and press. Among the technology-focused workshops, Scott Bradford of Gesswein will discuss CAD techniques and software for better jewellery creation, while Jenny Luker of the Platinum Guild International (PGI)<\/a> will introduce a new platinum alloy. Consultant Anne Miller will address the promise of generative AI, while Joseph Strauss of HJE Company, Inc. will explain advances in sinter-based 3-D printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability and ethical sourcing will also be highlighted, with Eric Branwaurt of Columbia Gem House<\/a> and consultant Frank Cooper investigating the traceability of colored gemstones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
