GII<\/a> has long been known for providing complete laboratory services, diamond detecting technology, certification, research, and educational efforts. Notably, it created its own diamond identification system, Q CHECK, and was a pioneer in certifying colored gemstones. The institute is a collaborative project backed by leading industry organizations such as GJEPC<\/a>, BDB, DEAL, MDMA, and GJEA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A seasoned leader takes over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over four decades of experience in the diamond industry, Mehul Shah<\/a> is well-known for his skills in diamond certification, grading, and technological breakthroughs. Industry members have welcomed his appointment, seeing him as a viable replacement to outgoing Chairman Anoop Mehta<\/a>, who is credited with increasing transparency and professionalism at GII<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
