The clock, which was previously owned by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arthur_Rostron\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Captain Arthur H. Rostron<\/a> of the RMS Carpathia, was given to him by three important Titanic survivors as a sign of their appreciation for his courageous rescue efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mrs. John B. Thayer, Mrs. John Jacob Astor, and Mrs. George D. Widener have engraved a sincere message on the watch, which was purchased from Henry Aldridge and Son Ltd.
