The meeting aimed to promote debate and address critical concerns confronting the gem and jewellery industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GJEPC<\/a> was represented by <a href=\"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/coa.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shri Vipul Shah, Chairman<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/coa.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shri Kirit Bhansali, Vice Chairman<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/coa.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shri Ajesh Mehta, Convener, Diamond Panel<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/coa.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shri Shaunak Parikh, Convener, Banking, Insurance, and Taxation<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/coa.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shri Milan Chokshi, Convener, PM&amp;BD<\/a>; and <a href=\"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/our-structure.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shri Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the discussions, <a href=\"https:\/\/gjepc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GJEPC<\/a> leadership raised numerous significant challenges affecting the industry and sought practical solutions to improve the ease of doing business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key subjects of discussion were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facilitating the hand-carriage of gems and jewellery through all ports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extending tolerance limits on cut and polished diamonds sent on consignment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing a standard operating procedure (SOP) for the reimport of jewellery for repair and subsequent re-export.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>RMS facility for G &amp; J products for exports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Difficulty faced with exports of Lab-Grown CPD Diamond.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussion emphasized the importance of industry-customs collaboration in creating a more conducive business environment.
